Quote from the Mens Fitness blog I wrote about yesterday:
“As the workout progressed, my arms reached a level of exhaustion that I can recall experiencing only a handfull of times in my years of working out. The widespread burn that ensued throughout my agony-filled lift felt phenomenal. Getting such a thorough burn in such a wide variety of muscle groups is an extremely efficient way to work out. In the twenty minutes of this workout, I likely accomplished what I would have in two hours through isolation work in a typical weight room. Collapsing to the black rubber at the conclusion of my twenty minute struggle felt incredibly rewarding.”
Good description of how I felt this morning, and I am still feeling that burn now…

You looked pretty relaxed at the Braves game last night…unless that was your evil laid-back twin.

why did you see me, but not say hello?? I got pepper
sprayed on my way to the game last night, so perhaps that has a calming
effect? true story. the cops sprayed some lady in my vicinity and I
inhaled the aftermath. it was terrible.

haha. i was pretty sure we made direct eye contact from about 20 feet away multiple times at the chophouse, but you were busy talking to a couple of guys and I was trying to hold down a table and some railing space.
you must have been right next to my friends when you got sprayed. they said they didn’t know if they wanted to cry or laugh because it was so ridiculous.

you must be less than 20 feet away in order for eye contact to result in me actually recognizing you. eyesight not so hot. sorry about that. it was a work function, so you were probably spared some less than exciting small talk, but I would have happily greeted a fellow crossfitter nonetheless.

Today’s WOD 8 rounds RX. I now understand the meaning of “magic sponge”. That thing is AWESOME! I still hate SDHPs, or pseudo deadlift high pole vaults as they were renamed tonight.
I’ll be taking you up on your offer this weekend, Nick. Big thanks.
DHall referred to us as the “weak ones” on the Crossfit Smyrna blog today. It definitely got me motivated to kick some ass on this weekend’s workouts!

CrossFit Strength Bias: 3×5 shoulder press @ 45kg
1/2 of today’s WOD: 3 rounds even in 10 minutes
    1.5 hours of tennis after
Peter and Mike May, that was an epic performance on the WOD today, thought we would need a stretcher for each of you at the end.
Tennis after Crossfit seemed like a cross-fitty idea at the time, but didn’t work out so hot. My partner was asking why I was dogging it.

yes, Peter Bassi, it is time for a Dhall ass-whoopin after all of the smack talk we have had from him.
in other news, did today’s WOD 7 rounds plus Thrusters and 3 HPC. My arms/shoulders are still burning. Good to see you Stowe.
Since work/business obligations have kept me from the gym lately I have retaliated the past few days by scheduling a 9pm conference call yesterday and a working dinner today so that I could come in and hit the WOD and then go back to getting stuff done. It was a great stress break and I was so much more productive even though my days didn’t end until after 10pm. Moral of the story: stay in school!
