Workout of the Day

Clean and Jerk 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

In weightlifting news, several of our lifters attended the American Open in Mobile, AL last weekend. Travis Cooper placed 2nd in the 85 kg weight class.  Jake Rubash tied for 2nd in the snatch and finished 4th overall in the 77 kg weight class.  Kulsoom Abdullah placed 10th in the 48 kg weight class.  Great job everyone!

    Snatch grip, 75# on the bar, weightlifting shoes… going to guess that Vance is doing a high volume of snatches in a met-con (maybe the recent three round snatch/wall ball?). Initially it looked like an early pull, but I think what is happening here is he is cycling the snatches and we are seeing the bar on the way down to a hang or the floor.

    quite a few peeps have been asking about jump ropes lately… if you want to improve your double under skillz (and really, who doesn’t), i’d recommend getting your own rope. that way, you can set the length to your height, you’ll get used to using that rope in particular, you’re not left to searching the gym for the rope you “always” use AND it travels well… so no excuses for not working out while you’re out of town 🙂
    a lot of people (me included) have the Again Faster Revolution rope and have been very happy with it.
