Two things: first, I saw an add on TV for high fructose corn syrup and the point of it was that it’s “fine in moderation.” Nice. I love that the silent proponents of this conspiracy are now fighting back. Sounds like some of the PR advanced by the cigarette companies in the 50’s…second, check out atlanta.locallygrown.net This is a really cool service whereby you can order fresh produce and other items by Wednesday of every week, and then pick it up at Piedmont Park each Saturday between 9 and 10. I have yet to make it to the Dekalb Farmer’s Market, so while their prices might be better than this site, I’ll pay them for the convenience and for the assurance that I’m buying things that are locally grown. (Maybe DFM has that assurance too? I don’t know.) They have grass fed beef, delicious cream, great eggs, etc. Check it out.
Great brunch this Saturday, and looking forward to the return of our Friday night fun!

If you guys are also interested in local foods, I found two other CSAs-one for meat and another for veggies. Doing the trial week on the veggies now, but hopefully will get the meat CSA going soon.

For the past year and a half, I’ve ordered weekly from Moore Farm, out of eastern Alabama. Everything is local and organic; they have veggies, fruit, meat (including grass fed beef, pork, lamb; they are working on poultry), eggs, butter, honey, etc. Order by Tuesday morning, pick up on Wed or Thursday afternoon at a variety of locations around town. I pick up at Trinity Presbyterian on Howell Mill Rd on Wednesday between 12:30 and 7:00pm). At least one other CrossFit affiliate is a pickup location; we could possibly explore getting the food delivered right to the gym on Wednesday afternoons, although the other services mentioned in the comments also sound great!

Did the ridiculous C&J/Pull-up WOD from yesterday:
22:10 with 45 lb dumbbells. Hurt my neck in the process.

In Johnson City, TN today and tomorrow morning. I had the rental car allll to myself today and finally went to CF Johnson City and did some snatch balances, shuttle runs, and this little gem:
    10 rds for time:
    C&J 95 lbs
    5 pull ups
    10 pushups
15 squats (so one round of Cindy)
    12:15
It felt like home and I wasn’t so depressed to be traveling. Hopefully see you guys tomorrow!
