My suspicion is that those rows will become extremely difficult in rounds 3 and 4.

All this complaining about shoulders is starting to get annoying. Lay off it. Don’t do it. Crossfit is not tailored to your injuries. Any athlete that follows the crossfit WODs will get occasional injuries- ask Mike or Ken about it. I don’t see Mike complaining about his wrist every time a workout involving your wrist comes up.

Thanks for the love Marie. I will be sure to drive by you on the highway if I see you with a flat tire…
And my shoulder does still hurt…

Just wanted to drop a line and say that it was great seeing everyone last week! The new gym is awesome, but the great atmosphere that I loved so much about CFATL is still very much intact. I’m so glad I was able to run into so many of you…and meet a bunch of new people too! Well, I’ll be in Charleston for nuclear power school in the fall, so hopefully I’ll be able to stop through again before the year is over! Love, Ruthie

Dude, you should have totally kept the same reps even though you scaled up the weight – now I have no one to compare my time to! 😉
I scaled up to 95lbs, but kept the same reps; 16:25

I know, I realized that about halfway through. I thought the weight would be too much to do that many reps, it was not.
I should have either increased the weight more, maybe 185#, or kept the reps at the prescribed amount.

BMW is an overhead pressing machine. I bet his shoulders are made of adamantium.

For those of you who do not have a P.h.d.
Adamantium is a metallic or crystalline substance which has seen extensive use in works of geodesy, fantasy, comics, cartoons and video games. It is so named because the word “adamant,” meaning unbreakable, or adamantine combined with the neo-Latin suffix “ium” resembles the naming form of many chemical elements. In its classical form, adamantium refers to any unbreakable or impenetrable object. However most commonly, adamantium is used as the name of a nearly invulnerable fictional element or substance.
To see it and touch it in real life just look for me…..

    DHall,
A little rest goes a long way. If your shoulder is too beaten up to do the WOD, any of the trainers will be happy to come up with an alternative that will get you your fix without taxing your injury.
I know you don’t want to skip out on the pain, but you should listen to your body.
    Marie,
That cross you’re bearing seems to be getting a little heavy.

    Don’t listen to DHall.
Adamantium was reverse engineered from vibranium, an unbreakable metal that was shaped into Captain America’s shield. The exact formula for creating vibranium has been lost, but adamantium is nearly as powerful.
As for BMW’s shoulders being composed of adamantium, well that’s simply silly. The shoulder itself is a joint. It doesn’t matter how hard it is, the muscles will control the strength. However, even supposing BMW did have adamantium lacing his bones like Wolverine, he’d die in a few minutes from adamantium poisoning because you need a super healing factor to counter the natural toxicity of adamantium.
Now, for the sake of argument, assuming BMW DOES have mutant healing factor and adamantium, it still would not affect his strength. Adamantium is merely a metal allow, nothing more. BMW’s strength comes from years of devoted conditioning.
    Is that super?
    Sure.
    But not superhuman.

Which begs the question, if adamantium is just as good, why isn’t it called vibranium?

I did this WOD as prescribed, which is kind of ridiculous considering that 115 lbs is my one repetition maximum for shoulder press.
    Time was 23:40.
