Two things: first, if anyone is looking for a nice, paleo friendly restaurant, I recommend Top Floor. They have meat and sides that you can order separately. The entrees run around $13, which is reasonable for a spot of that caliber. I had the pork tenderloin, and sampled the hanger steak, scallops and duck…all of which were amazing. It’s basically on the corner of Myrtle and Ponce, near Mary Macs. Second, and in what may be a correlated event, I split my pants this morning. There are so few that fit my ass and quads these days. I try to pick pairs that have a bit of stretch in them. So while the JCREW wool pair I have does have stretch in the actual wool, I learned that the lining does not have any give whatsoever when I went into the full squat position to put on my dogs leashes. I find this alternately hilarious and encouraging.

    Injury update:
I had a potentially revealing visit to the physical therapist this morning. First he had me bend over to where the pain started. I didn’t get very far. Then he did a ton of piriformis stretches on me and had me try to bend over again. I touched the floor (with some mild muscle tightness from all the recent inactivity). He also mentioned the possibility of nerve entrapment. When I got home I googled “nerve entrapment sciatica” and a bunch of stuff about piriformis syndrome came up. The symptoms are very similar to a herniated disk and some of the potential causes can be: driving a car for extended periods of time, poor stretching/warm-up, over use, extended periods of poor sitting posture. Before the pain started I had just driven to Florida and back twice in a little over a week, did the level 1 cert where we did a billion squats with little to no warm-up, and I’m a programmer so I sit in front of a computer for 8 hours a day with mediocre posture. I’m not saying I don’t have a herniated disk, and the doctor didn’t say that either, but piriformis syndrome make a whole lot more sense. The treatments are also relatively the same. We’ll see how it goes.
    Miss you guys (and girls).

Whatever you have, I hope you get better. Also, look up confirmation bias.

Haha, yes, very familiar with the concept, which is why I haven’t said “I have piriformis syndrome” or “I don’t have a herniated disk”.

Given what I know about you and the description of the pain, it could also be psychosomatic. There are treatments for pain that don’t involve surgery or drugs.

Whatever it is, I hope you have a quick recovery.
    Hey everyone,
The GA Crossfit Sectionals are right around the corner. It would be awesome to have a bunch of CFATL athletes out there…whether you plan on competing as an individual, competing on our affiliate team, volunteering, or just cheering everyone on.
