Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
Run 400 meters
Max rep Pull-ups

Post number of pull-ups completed for each round to comments.

    I protest this workout on intellectual grounds. It’s freaking stupid. Anyone with a brain knows you can’t have two variables in a workout. What’s the standard? At the extreme you could theoretically have a guy do one round and 400 pull ups and another guy who does 100 rounds with one pull up a round. Who’s better?

    Can anyone explain how a simple amazon search for girl scout cookies turns up hundreds of hits for sexy girl scout costumes and metal vaginal speculums?

    The guy that can run 40,000 m in 20 minutes. That’s like 33.3 m/s. Besides I thought it was, as long as you feel awful when the workout’s over, you did a good job.

    I think it is just like Fight Gone Bad yesterday — there is some strategy involved, like taking it easy on the rowing segment of FGB to “rest” for the wall balls. A fast 400m time is 1:30; a slow time is 2:30, so the question here is do you want to have 6 rounds of pull-ups while feeling pretty fresh, 10+ rounds while being out of breath, or something in between?

    I picked up the microwave last night and will arrive this evening around 7.
    I tore pretty badly making up the 10 rds of 10 pullups and 10 ring dips on Saturday, so I need a substitute for pullups. Pushups, perhaps?
    FGB as rx’d on Saturday, 192. Not my best score, but that’s the first time I have done it as rx’d, so I am happy.

    I always thought this workout is very straight forward – you do as many pull ups as possible, and your punishment for falling off the bar is having to run a 400m.

    that’s operating on the assumption that one does not like to run…that it’s not like a breeze on a hot summer day or a breath of fresh air or the sun shining upon one’s face.

    Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you’re so darn stupid that we’re going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That’s what the Speaker of the House is saying. Read below……………
    Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You aren’t going to believe this.
    Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas, it is true – all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!
    This woman is frightening.
    She quotes…’ We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn’t Marx say something like this?), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.’ (I am not rich, are you?)
    When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied:
    ‘We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as ‘Americans’.’
    (Read that quote again and again and let it sink in.) ‘Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it’.

    Roy you obviously missed the deep dark San Tropez tan Amber and Hedi have. Dan it looks like you did not study your flash technique in your photo class… White flash on Lilly White skin just does not work… 🙂

    Jason and Elizabeth, I believe that Bethanie contacted you guys about being a Team RX with Brent and I in Jacksonville at the Dirty South Regional Qualifiers. Sorry to post this, but didn’t have both of your email addresses. Just wanted to make sure both of you are good to go on the fee, transportation and hotel.

    Well I feel like I was run over a truck today and peeled over on the ground 2 push presses into the 3rd round of FGB today. Only the 3rd workout I ever stopped on since I started Crossfit. I’ve fallen off the wagon lately…I need to get my act together damnit.

    I apparently can’t think clearly yet as witnessed by my first sentence in that last post.
    I left my phone in the gym on top of the stereo. If someone in the morning could get it and put it in the office I’d appreciate it. It’s a white iphone. Thanks.

    I made up FGB today. This was my second time ever doing it. the first time I got 157 and today I got 257. I’d say that is a bit of a PR! Now my next goal is to make it up to the bigger box jump. I’m still a wimp on the blue box and need to stop being scared of the green box.

    Congrats to Ryan on the Marathon! Did anyone else run the half or full yesterday? Steve? Laura Jr? Victah? I ran it the past 2 years and Beef ran with me last year, so we are proud of all of our runners!!

    I never seem to do as well when I do FGB in the morning, oh well.
