Workout of the Day

"Tabata Something Else"

Complete 32 intervals of 20 seconds of work followed by ten seconds of rest where the first 8 intervals are pull-ups, the second 8 are push-ups, the third 8 intervals are sit-ups, and finally, the last 8 intervals are squats. There is no rest between exercises.

Post total reps from all 32 intervals to comments.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the CrossFit Games Open Qualifying.  In the scoring as of Monday morning, CF ATL finished 2nd place in the Southeast, behind CrossFit Hardcore, despite having more total reps over the course of the six events, and in a further scoring anomaly, finished ahead of CrossFit Hardcore in the worldwide rankings.

"Pose Method: Concept Model Method" Dr. Nicolas Romanov, CrossFit Journal preview video [wmv] [mov]

How To Do an Overhead Squat, NOT, from Livestrong.  The video is real, not an April Fool's joke.  Evidently someone at the globo gym heard that overhead squats were a good exercise and so this is the way they do them in a gym that does not have bumper plates, does not allow weights to be dropped, and has trainers that don't know the difference between Olympic lifting and powerlifting.  Anyone caught doing overhead squats like this at CF ATL will be flogged. (Thanks Brent)

So in other words, Crossfit Atlanta is 1st in the SE.

Within a region, the team gets scored by placement within that region on each WOD. If your team gets 1st place on a WOD, you get one point, 2nd place, two points, etc. Low score wins. Crossfit Hardcore placed 1, 7, 2, 1, 8, 1 for the six WODS(for a total of 20 points). Crossfit Atlanta placed 5, 4, 5, 2, 3, 2 for a total of 21 points.
For worldwide scoring, the mechanism is the same, but now you get compared to all teams rather than just teams in your region. In the world scoring, CFATL ended up with 202 points (56, 53, 45, 12, 27, 9) to Crossfit Hardcore’s 207 (10, 92, 30, 2, 67, 6).

Ok — crazy math to confuse us eh….
I am just proud that CFATL is going to bring some STRONG competition to the Regionals. I expect all to be at the Cali Games….
On an unrelated note — I left my lunch at the fridge …. in Publix plastic bag. I will remember to take it home tomorrow….
    Have fun with Tabata ……
