Psyched about Angie today. Last Angie was 21:?? back in May at my sister’s gym. Shooting for sub-20 today.

Angie, Rx, 23:23, PR by about four minutes. In other news: pull-ups are still my nemesis.

If you don’t want to read a sappy personal story, skip the rest of this post.
Exactly 1 month after I started started CrossFit at my sister’s gym (10 days from today a year ago) she posted this picture http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_3fNJudLqP3M/SVbhq0lTG3I/AAAAAAAACNc/1bHH7Wb2uNc/s1600-h/xmasmorngroup.jpg on her website. At the time I didn’t know who any of the rest of the people were (or why they would ever want to do a workout like that on Christmas morning), but I did know that there wasn’t a chance in hell I would ever be able to come close to their times, if I could finish that workout at all. It might as well have been a picture of a bunch of Greek gods. To this day, nothing has had a more profound impact on me when it comes to CrossFit than that picture. When I yelled “time” tonight I knew I had a decent PR, then a voice yelled back 18:08 and as usual I collapsed to the floor. After a minute or so on the ground trying to breathe I finally processed my time and realized what I had done… a 3 minute PR. I immediately thought back to that picture and the times posted in it, and I don’t know if anybody noticed, but I laid there on the ground in tears for a few minutes. Tonight was without a doubt the best night of CrossFit I’ve had so far, and although I still have a long way to go to get to where I want to be, I want to thank everybody who helped get me to this point.
