From the NY Times, Knee Injuries In Girls.  The dirty secret in women's sports is the high incidence of knee injuries.  Orthopedists say it's anatomy, but recent research suggests it's something else, poor mechanics.  Very relevant to this is Kelly Starrett's 3 part lecture series on knee problems in the CrossFit Journal.  In part 2 he discusses this very issue.  The cause: lack of hamstring and glute strength and control.  The cure: squatting and lunging with good mechanics.

    Peter, speaking of dreams, Bethanie told us that she was talking in her sleep the other night, and it went like this:
    Bethanie: “Is that full range of motion?”
    Mike: “Who are you talking to?”
    Bethanie: “Peter.”
    Evidently, B doesn’t have any recollection of this at all, but she was coaching you in her sleep. Hilarious.

    Visited Crossfit CataMount in Ohio this weekend, did Deadlifts on Friday, 3X7, they use lbs..got to 195lb, then 200lb for 1 rep.
    Barbara on Sat as RX, 40:49, still slow, but it is about 15 to 20 PR 🙂
