Workout of the Day

For time:
Run 800 meters
15 left-legged pistols
15 right-legged pistols
25 sit-ups
12 left-legged pistols
12 right-legged pistols
25 sit-ups
9 right-legged pistols
9 left legged pistols
25 sit-ups
Run 800 meters

"Pistol" is one-legged squat with Kettlebell or dumbbell. Use 24 kg Kettlebell or 55 pound dumbbell for pistols.

The August 2009 issue of Scientific American has an article about a surprise connection between grain consumption and autoimmune disease: "Surprises from Celiac Disease (pdf)"  This connection comes as no surprise to the CrossFit community, as Loren Cordain, author of The Paleo Diet suggested such a connection in an article entitled "Modulation of immune function by dietary lectins in rheumatoid arthritis (pdf)" published in the British Journal of Nutrition in 2000.

    Went for an easy 15 mile bike ride. I’m running in a half marathon tomorrow and couldn’t imagine that a bunch of one legged squats with a 1.5 pood kettlebell was going to help that.

    Today’s WOD
    started with 12kg KB in the first round then dropped to 8kg KB for the 2nd & 3rd rounds as I was failing 12kg reps and getting stuck at the bottom due to loss of focus and fatigue.
