The mainstream media science magazine, Scientific American, which could just as easily be renamed "Politically Acceptable Science," begins awakening to the increasingly overwhelming evidence that the federally prescribed high carb, low fat diet is dangerous. A delay of almost 40 years since publication of Dr. Atkin's Diet Revolution is about what you might expect for peer reviewed, politically correct science, but the good news is that the tide seems to be turning. But it's doubtful the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, will ever see the light. They are the government agency which publishes the Food Pyramid and the Recommended Daily Allowances, and, as the article reveals, they are still stuck on the idea that it's just a matter of calories in/calories out.
