    First! LOL.
Today as Rx’ed: 13:06. The squats in those cleans were MURDEROUS after thrusters yesterday.

    Thrusters this am: got 51kg.
Thanks to whomever our “mystery cleaners” are…the gym is very organized!
Time to sleep again so that I can make it to do Elizabeth this evening…

my cleans (including snatch, push press etc) are getting worse over time. I know its due to mental blocks but not sure what to do…
I started with 40 KG, after a few I realized I was not going to get finished since I feel the need to pull the bar high enough to do a standing power clean, then front squat. I dropped down to 35kg which was better as far as me being able to drop better under the bar without fear but still kind of bad and inefficient.
Last time (10/26/2008) I used 75# (only 2 lbs less than today), kipping ring dips w/ a time of 24:57 but today with 77lbs, kipping ring dips, 30:21
well on a positive note, I was able to do more consecutive ring dips than last time.

I have the same issue. I think that when I started Crossfitting I was blissfully unaware of the mechanics of these moves and was just satisfied to come into the gym and move some weights. Now I have an appreciation of just how much subtlety there is to doing these moves correctly/efficiently — even the deadlift has a lot going on. The problem for me is that I have been coming in and doing the warmup and the WOD, skipping the skills drills on the board, and all of these different skills are far enough apart that I only make a little progress on the technique.
I’m now trying to make time every visit to work on the specific moves that really give me a hard time. I’m currently trying to learn to crank consistent double unders and figure if I can get up to 25 consecutive double unders, I’ll move on to something else (maybe the clean!).

One thing that is sad is I have spent a lot of time learning the olympic lifts. Maybe I have spent too much time and need to back off due to backwards progress and work on other things more then go back to the lifts “refreshed”
I could definitely work on double unders more (amongst many other skills). I try to in my warm ups. One positive note on that is even though I can barely do a 1 or more double unders, I have fast singles.

KBA, just do it dang it… the mind has always been a roadblock to success…visualize it, do it and put the smack down on what ever you want to do….just like breaking a board…you karate people crack me up….

All i can say is fuck full cleans. I need a lot of work on my squats, because my back was hurting as i got more tired, which means i was losing form bigtime.
On a side note, my favorite quote from tonight (when the group containing Elizabeth Stowe was about to start learning the motion):
Chandler: “Ok, everyone who is going to do Elizabeth, go get a dowel”

Ring dips are getting much better…but they still suck and are very frustrating. Cleans were easy although the quads started burning.

Thank you, Chandler. I always learn a lot when you are around for the lifting WODs (could have used you yesterday on the Thrusters). Dips will be my new project as they kicked my butt today and getting more pull ups is always on the list of projects, along with speeding up in the timed workouts, and shacking up with George Clooney.
