    Some time back, there was discussion of whether to use ibuprofen (Vitamin I) for muscle soreness. The general consensus was not to use it and I remember a Rippetoe article being referenced – can anybody direct me to why or why not to use NSAIDs for DOMS?

    Dang it Stephanie! You were not supposed to pubically post anything about the time warp machine. Now everyone is going to want to use it and it’s not desined to support more than four poeple at a time due to its inability to process… Crap! I’ve said to much. Let’s just say if you talk about it again you’ll be time warped back to 1984.

    and while we’re on the subject, who the f came up with “ough” as in “thought”? i mean, really? ough????

    Ryan, that is a throwback to Old Norse, where the “g” functioned more like a “y”. You still see it nowadays in modern Danish. Note that these words are pronounced exactly as in English:
    dag = day
    snegl = snail
    Similarly, the “h” was only aspirated occasionally, and when paired with the “g” or “j” remained silent. So “ough” makes more sense for the “əw” or “oʊ” sound than the word “go” does, since the latter is pronounced as a diphthong even though written as a monophthong.
