Johnathon- I realized late last night that I don’t have your phone number. I did not come in this morning. Sorry for the late notice!

Hey Guys! A note from your social chair: let’s attend the rugby pub crawl this Friday as the official, endorsed activity of the entertainment committee of Crossfit Atlanta. It should be fun and is for a good cause. I’m hoping the Santa suits don’t stink too badly. More details to follow, but I will re-post Dan’s comment about it from yesterday.
I’m guessing that we will resume the Saturday trail runs when we get Mike G. and Beefcicle back in town. If anyone is up for a run in the mean time, keep me posted. Also, since we have so many good swimmers, I wonder if we should start some swim events too? Just a thought.
Also, be SURE to get your tickets for NYE. The cost goes up tonight, and the discount goes down. The link to the site is as follows:

    Yesterday, Dan said:
The 15th annual AOWRFCSCPCCNCA (Atlanta Old White Rugby Football Club Santa Claus Pub Crawl for Christmas & Needy Children in Atlanta) will start Friday night promptly at 6 PM at the venerable 5 Paces Inn in Buckhead.
I will be wearing my historic Santa suit, a distinguished but battered veteran of the 1st “Crawl” & many since, and which, in accordance with the rules, has never been washed. Attendees are required to bring a politically correct toy for the Toys For Tots program and canned food for the hungry and homeless. It is recommended that all Santas use a taxicab in order to avoid the embarrassment of a Santa arrest.

Happy birthday Vas. What weight were you thinking for the OHSs? If I wasn’t a cripple right now I’d totally be down for that.

This is for you and anyone else interested.
The excuse of genetic predisposition has been long used for not maintaining a healthy weight. The opposite argument is that the environment is more important than your genes because it turns them on of off. Now hear this:
Scientists have bred two mice. One is brown and skinny, the other is yellow, fat and has diabetes. However, both mice have the exact same genome. The reason they are different is during the gestation period, their mothers were fed differently.

Conclusion: Genes are nothing if your nurture/environment doesn’t activate them. Also, the mother’s diet has an effect on the genes that are active later in the offspring’s life.

Happy b-day, Vas!!! Wish I’d have seen this before I worked out at lunch… looks fun! I’ll have to do it another time.
Given that I also have a December b-day, what does everyone think about planning a winter birthday celebration sometime after the holiday hoopla has died down? I’ll let the “social chairs” chime in here, since it’s their area of expertise 🙂
Perhaps we could even do a winter b-day wod as well… just a thought.

Did the Canadian qualifier workout today, only scaled the DL from 205# to 70kg — 5 rounds, plus 1 burpee. Deceptively hard.
    AMRAP 20 min
    10 reps each of
    20(14)# wallballs
    20” box Jumps
    205(145)# deadlift
    Burpees
