CrossFitAtlanta  193In the women's final event 1st and 2nd place were locked up.  The drama was in the contest for the 3rd spot on the podium.  Going into the event, "Fran," Kristen Clever was 4 points behind Talayna Fortunato.  Whovever finished ahead of the other would win 3rd.  In a neck and neck race from start to finish, Fortunato won by a nose, and collapsed to the floor.

Workout of the Day

During Warm-up

3 x 20s support hold on rings (Rx) or p-bars (scaled)
– elbow pits forward, chest up, shoulders back and down, lift yourself up high
30 handstand shoulder touches with stomach towards wall, shoulders up, hollow body position, toes pointed, head in (ears between your arms).  Only your toes should touch the wall. Scale by holding feet on box 

Strength:

In 8 minutes, work up to a heavy 1 rep clean. Rest 2 mins, then clean that weight every 30 seconds for 3 minutes.

7 rounds for time:
7 power clean and jerks 135lbs
7 burpees
7 kb swings 2pd
