Was inspired by Bethanie’s kick butt Fran time this weekend and decided I’d rendez vous with Fran last night. My last Fran was 13:39 and so my goal was for a 10 minute Fran. Finished at 10:10. Missed my goal but still a big improvement. Sarah did it with me and it was her first RX Fran. Awesome job!
Loved Amber’s show this weekend! Good job, girlie!

I think #33 Omar Omar wins the funniest post for the day for noting (in all seriousness) that the second 2 400’s were cut short.

That track looked like it was downhill and you had the wind at your back. Other than that it was awesome!
    LOL…Good job man.
PS…That guy in the tank top looks ripped.

Elizabeth as Rx’d: 9:47. My squat cleans were a bit inefficient. I need to work more on “jumping the weight up”.

I thought Starting Strength would be easy, until Brent put all those warm up sets up on the board. I was amazed at how difficult it became at the end, and how much patience it requires. And, not to get all sappy on you all, as I am prone to do, but I am also amazed by the trainers at this gym and their willingness to download essential information to all of us, and how generous they all are with their time. Specifically, Brent this morning…I had a few light-bulb moments under your watchful eye. Thanks to Brent, and all the trainers, really.

This is going to sound like I am making a joke, especially given the content of today’s crossfit.com message thread, but I think that lift isn’t near as impressive as some ‘lighter’ lifts that use a rigid bar and hard weights. In this lift he doesn’t actually lift 1100 pounds until the final hip extension.
I can’t see this, cause I am at work, but this guy does 1003lbs. http://andrew-bolton.com/video_play_02.htm

Well, when you campare a lift to the world record, then I can see how the first guy is not as impressive (having to lift the full weight of the bar only once above his knees). However, a bar that gives so much is like overhead squating a bar with kettlebells attached to it by rubberbands – it has an inertia component that the lifter has to deal with.

The range of motion is shorter because of the bend in the bar but still impressive.
Here he is lifting 970lbs. with a regular bar and plates:
