Hey guys. A note about our Friday night Happy Hours: we are going to have one more, this Friday, and then next week, we will start Saturday events, where we go for a trail run and then have brunch and drinks. Mike G., Leah P., Bethanie and Jonathan have started these Saturday runs, and they will be a good way for all of us to work on running (yay!) and bond afterwards over good food and drinks. This Friday will be BYOB as usual. Starting at 7. LaLa has generously agreed to be our guest chef. Looking forward to seeing all of you and hanging out.
Regarding the Halloween Party, it’s next weekend, Saturday night the 7th. Because there will be a running cert going on in our gym that weekend, the hours of the party will be from 7 pm through 10 pm, at which point everyone will need to clear out so the gym can be cleaned and prepped for the 2nd day of the cert. We will host an after party somewhere for those who are interested, perhaps at my new place if I can get it all together by then. Look for details over the next week.

    Guys,
Starting next month, I will be running a weightlifting class every rest day between Monday and Thursday. I will host this class at 5:30 PM. The class comes at no extra charge.
Each class will cover a different lift, and I will work with you on each movement starting at the most basic level, so there is no reason to feel like you have to attend every one. Each class will start at 5:30 and run for 45 minutes-1 hour. We will start with dowel work, proceed to empty bar movement and conclude with some lifting or a short metcon depending on the movement and your skill level. After that, I will take you through some light stretching and flexibility exercises to help maximize the work you’ve put in.
On a related side note: you don’t need to worry about bulking up due to lifting heavier weights. Building strong muscles is the best way to lose fat and improve your overall metabolic conditioning. Honestly, I am one of the strongest people you know, and I only look bulky because I buy my shirts at the baby gap.
All joking aside, getting stronger will make you a better crossfitter and better prepare you for any obstacle you may encounter in your daily life.
I will post here in the morning on the day of the class.
    Hope to see you there.

Any chance of moving the class later? I’d love to do this but 5:30 is impossible for me.
I’ll even compliment you on your faggy baby gap shirts.

    Does 6:15 work for you?
I can run you through the technique work while the earlier group does the workout.

Your sister looks like she would kick my ass at everything too. How much weight is she using in that video?

I dunno Jason, we don’t want the girls in the gym getting huge by lifting heavy weight. Look what happened to this girl that can snatch 85kg…

I own several sewing machines. But I guess this wasn’t really directed to me. Oh, well.
