Thanks to Sebastian for getting us tickets to the Invictus preview.  It is a fantastic movie.  The book, Playing the Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game That Made a Nation, is also very good.

Women are often fearful that CrossFit will make them look like the some kind of grotesque over muscled body builder.  Our answer is that we do functional movements; that form follows function, and that it is beautiful.  Check out the women of the CrossFit Games: Beauty in Strength. [pdf download]

    FYI: New Shake Weight advertisement actually informs consumers of its manual operation. I was not happy when, at the Holiday Party, I found out there were no batteries.

    Hi Guys! Steve is going to be posting the “100 ring dip challenge” tonight at the gym. It will begin Monday. We will have some additional clarifications on the board about skip days, vacation days and substitute exercises. You may begin with any exercise that needs improvement. Do it with pullups if you are having a hard time stringing them together or can’t quite get your kip down. If you’re an elite, do it with hspu’s!! Get excited.
    Also, the Friday night social will be at my house this week, so that you all can help me drink some of the beer that is left over after the party. We will start at 7 and go until whenever. If anyone needs directions that hasn’t already been there, please email me at mredman@sgrlaw.com

    So today was the first day I wasn’t loving our cold weather. Had to dodge flying trash cans in 35 degree air with a 20 degree wind chill. Still managed a 21:41 in the 5 fingers.

    Hey guys, i miss making my weekly trips to atlanta! Just wanted to pass the word on that the gym i’ve been working out at, Crossfit No Excuses, is holding a Christmas Kettlebell Challenge. It’s next Saturday, the 19th, and starts at 9:00. There is a $10 entrance charge that will benefit a local charity. Hope to see some people at it! Let me know if you have any questions.

    mostly due to schedule and transportation issues, but last week I had my wisdom teeth removed so I couldn’t work out, otherwise risk the blood clots coming out.
    I am glad to finally eat normal food and workout.
