I was planning on coming in so I can do some extra pull-ups, dips, etc. Anyone have a 10k route from CFA, or should I just go for 5 and turn around?

I run 10k the day somebody pays me $10k to do it. Gonna do that 21-15-9 OHS, burpee, pull-up workout today.

I am going to run 10k at 8 PM tonight from my house, which is close to the gym. Let me know if there are any takers. This is going to be an endurance run, so I won’t be going fast, just around 9 minute miles, hopefully. I have mapped a route.

Peter, do you mean 21-15-9 of “knees to elbows”, burpees, and OHS? KTB on the board should be KTE.

Haha, yes. That’s more like it. Thanks Outlaw.

Hey Jeff, not sure I would recommend running along some of those streets for various safety reasons (some of those roads are busy, small, with no sidewalk while others might just be shady).
Someone who knows the area a bit better may agree or disagree…

    I may join you.

That’s not a bad route. The worst parts will be Howell Mill and Marietta for traffic reasons (and Marietta can be shady).

Agreed. I have run on those streets about 983724 times during the day, at night, alone and with a friend with no incident (knock on wood), but I would recommend to just run the Peachtree on Saturday. You just have to be aware of your surroundings and turn down the music so you can hear cars and people coming up behind you. I’m also definitely not a hot, CrossFit-sculpted young woman who might be prey to the GT burglars still on the loose. Do the long runs in a race or with a group on the weekends.

That’s why I want a dude to run with me, just to be on the safe side. I also run in “good” neighborhoods, but in a city, I am not sure that makes that much of a difference. I run Defoors, Moores Mill, West Wesley, Howell Mill, Collier.

I’ll be running a 10k for the Peachtree on Saturday. Time to make up something I missed earlier this week. That two pood KB workout looked awful. That’s the one I’ll do.

I tried to get to the gym today, but just didn’t get out of work on time. These new gym hours are going to be tough when my busy season get here in the fall.
I want to run the peachtree on Saturday, too. Who all is running it? Looks like Peter will be on the sidelines with a big sign for us CrossFit runners.

today: 2 sets of doubles tennis, lost both sets — 6-2, 6-3.
I’m running the Peachtree on Saturday. I’m in group 1B, the 15000’s.

Ran the 10k today, a day after Eva, so it wasn’t my fastest time in the world. I love how exhausted I am, though. It feels good.
Off to Cincinnati for the weekend. See everyone on Monday.

You guys haven’t seen me because I am in Florida this week. Besides the extreme amount of swimming I have been doing – I did this workout this morning:
    4 Rounds for time –
    400m Run
    50 Squats
    17:10
Tomorrow, I am going to incorporate 400m beach runs and sand burpees – I’ll let you know how it goes.
