    Much needed rest day.
I’m doing a sprint triathlon on Sunday (1k swim, 13 mile bike, 5k run). Anybody have any advice related to rest/food/etc for the next few days?

1st ever posting. . . 5:23 Annie the other day W/ ANCHORED SITUPS! Brent you had me feeling guilty about doing Annie with my feet anchored. Then I went and watched the video of Speal doing Annie, and whadaya know? dumbbells for his feet. I was under the impression that the times on the board were all with anchored situps. So would the CF ATL rockstars (you know who you are) please do Annie with anchored situps so as Brent said, I “won’t feel bad about cheating” I realize my time will get destroyed, but thats ok.
Also, my sister sent me a great link for paleo-banana-nut muffins. taste great, easy to make.
Bethanie, Mike, if you guys ever need someone to keep Jorge for a weekend, I would be happy to do it (i think)

Don’t do heavy 1RM deadlifts and take Saturday off. Also, don’t do any obscure movements that you are not used to doing in a workout, as new movements tend to make you sore more.
Focus on your mind and prepare it to push hard come Sunday.
Otherwise there’s nothing special you need to do. Crossfit is meant to keep you in a constant ready state.

I forgot; you need to go to Sisi’s and eat 5 lbs worth of pasta. But no sauce, as that has fat and you don’t want to clog your arteries.

There’s never been an official ruling on anchored vs non-anchored sit ups. I’ve seen it done both ways with similar times. Personally I don’t think anchoring is big enough of an advantage to worry about. The time you save in sit ups from anchoring is gobbled up by the time is takes to situate your feet.

Peter — I’ve done maybe 30 or 40 triathlons over the years… instead of me cluttering up the blog with a bunch of random thoughts, just send me an email at steve at steveco dot org and I’ll be happy to advise on any questions you might have on prep, transition, etc.

    Shoulder press and deadlifts today.
    SP didn’t go so well, was going for 3X5 @ 38kg, 1st set was 3 reps at 38kg, 2nd set was 4 reps @ 37kg and 3rd was all 5 @ 37kg.
    Deadlifts 5X5: 81k-85-87-90-90 (3)

I’ll have to do Annie again soon without anchoring and see how much the cycle time on situps slows. I have a sneaking suspicion “Fran” is going to come up soon

    Front Squat 3 rep max
    50kg, 55, 62, 65(2-so close), 65(1), 55(4-not enough depth on any)
I just realized my previous PR was 65 not 60kg for 3 reps. oh well, at least I almost maintained.

Anchoring your feet is not cheating. I didn’t achor my feet during Barbara and I felt better. But if you want to anchor your feet, go ahead.
Mike, your Annie time is legit and will be hard to beat.

Well, the time you knocked off the board (mine you prick) was with anchored situps. I have done it both ways and my time is about the same. The only way it gets slower is if you do GHD’s, which is what I did this last round and got destroyed. Awesome.
I am sure I will try to get my name up on the board for Annie 5-6 more times…unsuccessfully of course. It will be like Helen – I keep getting knocked off the board then I can’t get back on there!
    Great work Mike!

If you or anyone you know want to buy a pair of rings, I ordered 3 to get a 10% discount on some and I have one pair extra to sell:
    http://ringtraining.com/shop/equipment/exf-rings.html
came out to $64.95 each (shipping was free). Anyone local to ATL would be better as I could drop it off versus ship.
    thanks

Made up Barbara today. As Rx’d:
    2:58, 3:05, 3:23, 3:22, 3:15 = 16:03
Huge PR for me. I used to split races like that…
Does anyone mind telling me how people can post times in the 9 minute range for this workout? This doesn’t even seem physically possible. Let’s assume 15 seconds for 20 pullups, 20 seconds for 30 pushups, 40 seconds for 40 situps and 40 seconds for 50 squats. That’s 1:55 per round with NO transition time and absolutely HAULING. Assuming you could miraculously hold this pace, that’s still 9:35 total, and I’ve seen faster than that posted on the internets. How do people even have the balls to make such posts? It seems blatantly impossible to me, or are people doing it differently than us?

Dan or Brent: I believe I left my work clothes hanging on the pullup bar by the whiteboard tonight — blue oxford button down shirt, charcoal slacks. Would you mind just moving those to the wardrobe/closet thing in the men’s locker room and I’ll pick them up next time I’m in? Thanks!
Today: games workout, 5 sets of {5 deadlifts, 10 burpees} scaled to 95kg for the DLs, 6:44

Splits for a sub-10 Barbara seem pretty impossible to me, too. But when I looked at the best times on the beyondthewhiteboard site, the fastest posted time is something like 8:05. Clicking through on a couple of the people turning in these times, they look legit in that everyone has an extensive history of impressive PRs in other WODs and they all have Cindy PRs of 34 to 38 rounds(!)

I’m still skeptical. Today at the CRC I saw guys doing tabata squats. None were going below the knee. One wasn’t even lowering his hips to mid thigh.
Or, consider this. Speal has 38 rounds on Cindy. Seeing videos of him, I’m tempted to believe his form is legit. I haven’t heard of many guys giving him competition at body weight exercises.
Anyway, congratulations Rob. I guess I’ll have to beat Ken to get back on the board.

I’m still skeptical as well. And that seems like an obscene amount for Cindy too… which I’d like to see.

Ken, Mike thanks for the encouragement/validation. and yes, Annie with GHD sounds AWESOME, if walking can be optional the following few days. And props to Rob, you sir are the beast that bitch slapped Barbara. Very impressive time.
